World Gin Day
It’s World Gin Day on Saturday 13th June. Yes, you read that correctly. A whole day dedicated to gin. Sounds fantastic doesn’t it? The celebration was founded in 2009 by Neil Houston as a way of getting his friends together to drink gin but has since developed into an international occasion with gintastic events happening right across the globe (not to mention all manner of gin-related puns across social media). Now run by renowned gin blogger, Gin Monkey, World Gin Day is bigger than ever before.
If you’ve been reading our blog since its launch in February 2015, you will know that we are big fans of the juniper spirit and have shared a few posts on gin and gin cocktails…
If you also enjoy a gin tipple then World Gin Day is the perfect excuse to gather some friends together and enjoy a drink. Check out the World Gin Day website for a handy map to find an event near you and if there isn’t one then why not invite a few friends over and make one of our favourite gin cocktails?
We’ll be spending World Gin Day with Paul Bowler, founder and Master Distiller at Winchester Distillery, as we welcome local ginthusiasts to Winchester (or as we like to call it, Ginchester!) to learn all about gin in one of two exclusive sessions. If you can join us, we’d love to see you there.
