The Book Group 2020

We’re teaming up with local author Claire Fuller again in 2020 to bring you a programme of discussions and ‘meet the author’ evenings.

Our Book Group has been designed for people with a real passion for reading. They’re a great opportunity to discover the books that authors are reading as well as meeting writers to find out more about their work and approach to writing. We find that many people come on their own or with a friend but it’s a safe space for everyone to pitch in with their thoughts or pose a question.

How does it work?

Our Book Group alternates between a ‘Meet the Author’ session, led by Marcus, and a ‘Book Discussion’ led by Claire. Claire has chosen our books for this year so we know they’re going to be discussion worthy! The authors themselves don’t come to the Discussion sessions so you can feel free to share your views whatever they may be!

There’s no membership per se and you don’t have to come to every event. This allows you to dip in and out depending on what tickles your fancy. Of course, we have our core of regulars who come to every one so even if you come on your own you’ll see familiar faces every time!

How much does it cost?

The ‘Meet the Author’ sessions cost £6 + booking fee to attend but the discussion groups are free. Spaces are limited so we ask people to book quickly to avoid missing out. Please just let us know if you can’t attend as there is often a waitlist; especially for the ‘Meet the Author’ nights.
