Ginger Cosmopolitan

Cosmopolitans sometimes get a bit of a bad press but after we tasted this version on board the Queen Mary 2 on our way to New York, it quickly became one of our early favourites.  The sweetness of the orange liqueur and the sourness of the lime hit you first, making way to the delicious taste of ginger, finishing with the warmth of the spice coming through.  The beauty of this drink is you can really ramp up the ginger if ever you fancy a fruity cocktail with a real kick!

GINGER COSMOPOLITAN

50ml citrus vodka
25ml Grand Marnier
25ml cranberry juice
15ml lime juice
Thick slice of fresh ginger to muddle
Thin slice of fresh ginger to garnish

Chop some ginger and muddle it in the bottom of a shaker.
Add ice and the rest of the ingredients.  Shake vigorously.
Double strain into a glass.
Garnish with a slice of ginger.
